Excitement is building within the Colorado Avalanche organization as team captain Gabriel Landeskog has confirmed his intention to return for the 2025–26 NHL season. After nearly three years away due to a severe knee injury, Landeskog’s comeback has been a focal point for fans and teammates alike.​

Landeskog, 32, has not played since the Avalanche’s Stanley Cup victory in June 2022. His absence was due to persistent right knee issues that began during the NHL’s COVID-19 bubble in 2019–20.
