West Ham United Reportedly Secure Paul Pogba After Monaco Contract Termination.

West Ham United have been linked with a sensational move for Paul Pogba following the French midfielder’s departure from AS Monaco, creating the possibility of one of the most eye-catching free-agent deals of the summer. However, while Pogba is now officially available after reaching an agreement to terminate his Monaco contract, there is no confirmed announcement that West Ham have completed his signing.

Pogba’s Monaco adventure has ended much sooner than expected. The 2018 World Cup winner originally joined the French club in June 2025 on a contract running until June 2027. Monaco confirmed his arrival as a major opportunity for the midfielder to revive his career after a lengthy absence from competitive football.

Unfortunately, the comeback did not develop as either side had hoped. Pogba made only six appearances for Monaco, with just one start, and accumulated approximately 115 minutes of football. Injuries and fitness problems repeatedly interrupted his progress, leaving Monaco disappointed with the return on their investment.

The mutual termination now leaves the experienced midfielder searching for another opportunity. At 33, Pogba still possesses a remarkable football résumé, having enjoyed successful spells with Juventus and Manchester United and played a central role in France’s 2018 World Cup triumph. His technical ability, passing range, physical presence and experience remain attractive qualities for clubs looking for an experienced midfielder.

West Ham have subsequently emerged as one of the clubs mentioned as a possible destination. Reports have specifically suggested that Pogba has been pitched as a potential West Ham signing following the collapse of his Monaco spell.

For the Hammers, such a move would represent a significant gamble but potentially an enormous opportunity. Pogba at his best has demonstrated the ability to control matches, break defensive lines with his passing and contribute both creatively and physically. West Ham could see his experience as valuable as they look to strengthen their midfield and add another high-profile figure to the squad.

Nevertheless, the biggest question would be Pogba’s fitness. His Monaco spell showed how difficult it has been for him to maintain consistent availability since returning from his suspension. Any potential agreement would therefore likely require careful consideration of his medical condition, fitness levels and ability to handle the demands of Premier League football.

For now, the confirmed development is that Pogba and Monaco have parted ways. His next club has not been officially confirmed, meaning claims that West Ham have already secured his signature should be treated as unconfirmed rather than a completed transfer.

If West Ham ultimately do complete the deal, it would undoubtedly generate enormous excitement among supporters. A player who has won the World Cup, Premier League honours, Serie A titles and the Europa League would arrive with considerable experience and a reputation that could make the move one of the summer’s most talked-about transfers.
