COLUMBUS, Ohio — It’s National Signing Day, and Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day spoke with the media about the future Buckeyes.
5-Star QB Tavien St. Clair, from Bellefontaine, officially signed with the Buckeyes after committing back in June of 2023. The 6’4″ 225-pound QB can cover a ton of turf according to Andrew Ivins of 24/7 Sports.
Having St. Clair so close was beneficial, Day said in his press conference.
“He’s from Bellefontaine, Ohio. That’s important here,” Day said. “We felt like he separated himself from the class…you can see the leadership skills in him.”
Another high-profile recruit signed is 5-star CB Devin Sanchez from Houston, TX. Sanchez is the top-ranked CB in the nation. Sanchez is 6’2″ and plays with a lot of instinct. He ran a 10.81 100m dash, so he has the speed to keep up with the best receivers. He’ll have plenty of time to sharpen that skill guarding the NFL-caliber receiver room in Columbus.
The Buckeyes signed a pair of Runningbacks as well, with Anthony “Turbo” Rogers flipping his commitment from Alabama on signing day. Rogers had been committed to Alabama for most of his recruitment, but running back coach Carlos Locklyn was able to pull off the flip. They also signed Bo Jackson from Villa Angela-St. Joseph in Cleveland.
The Buckeyes also flipped defensive-end Epi Sitanilei from southern California. He was originally a UCLA commit, but OSU was able to flip him after he attended the Ohio State-Michigan game.
Locally, the Buckeyes signed Jake Cook from Westerville North. Cook is a 3-star, 6’5″ 295-pound offensive lineman. He played tackle in high school, but will likely move to guard or center for the Buckeyes.
Na’eem Offord, the No. 2 cornerback had been committed to the Buckeyes but flipped to Oregon on signing day.
